The final two lots brought an exciting conclusion to Loveitts recent bumper auction in which there were a record breaking thirty lots up for grabs.
It was a busy night with over 300 people in the room, however it was the last two properties situated at Mulliner Street and Newdigate Road, both in CV6, which created quite a stir, each smashing their individual guide prices by nearly £50,000 between the two lots.
The first sold for £92,000 having had a guide price of between £50,000 - £70,000 with the second not far behind achieving £84,500 on a guide price £40,000 - £60,000. Bidding gained pace from the off with bids being received from both the floor and by phone which is proving to be an ever-increasing trend.
Other lots in the line-up included a mix of land and properties all attracting a good deal of interest.
As always, the investment opportunities proved to be particularly desirable such as a four bedroom, three storey house in Middleborough Road, Coundon and a development opportunity in Clay Lane, Stoke comprising land with planning permission for erection of 37 ensuite bedroom student accommodation. Both sold in a bidding frenzy achieving £292,000 and £435,000 respectively – again considerably above the guide price.
Sally Smith, Loveitts Director and Auction Manager commented: “It was our biggest ever auction by far both in terms of attendees and the number of lots. We had a fantastic night and although a few properties remained unsold, we are confident that sales will be agreed for all in the coming days.
“What is clearly evident is that the auction marketplace remains extremely buoyant and we were delighted with the result.
“We are now setting our sights on the next auction on the 23rd November for which we are currently taking lots.”
