CHARITY THE WINNER AS LOVEITTS LOSE IN SEMI FINALS OF FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Loveitts Estate agents went one better than last year’s performance but still came up short as the property experts agonisingly lost in the semi-finals of the Lloyds Banking Group Charity Football 5 a side competition.

The tournament, held at Central Ajax football club, Warwick saw 16 teams from across the region compete for the trophy. Loveitts improved on their previous performances in the yearly competition but eventually lost 3-1 in a closely fought encounter with two late goals from Askews Accountants.

Loveitts finished top of their group, winning their first two games 3-2 and 5-0 respectively against Band Hatton Button Solicitors and Apex and then in the crucial deciding game of the group, drew 3-3 with Advent Communications to secure top of the table and therefore progress to the knockout stages.

The goals were shared between all members of the squad, with each player contributing a gaol at some point during the competition. Scott Lindley, Paul Barnes, Chris Edsall, Chris Priestley, Steven Evans, Justin Whiteley, Louis Edwards and female representative Sara Herbert.

The competition was raising money for Mental Health UK and was well attended with all games played in a good spirit. Loveitts were happy to contribute to a worthwhile charity and raise much needed money for the cause.
