Historically sales of houses have been quieter in December than any other time of the year. Purchasers tend to be concentrating on getting those last minute presents and getting prepared for Christmas, rather than searching for their new home!! Estate Agents normally find that everyone winds down towards Christmas and have much more pressing things to deal with.
