LOVEITTS ENTER CHARITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Loveitts agonisingly failed to qualify for the semi-finals on goal difference in the Lloyds Banking Group charity outdoor 5 a side football tournament in June.

Despite losing their first game 2-0, Loveitts bounced back admirably winning their final two games 4-2 and 5-1 but found themselves eliminated due to an inferior goal difference of two goals to Lloyds Group. Goals came from Scott Lindley (4), Paul Barnes (3) and Steven Evans (2) and Chris Priestley (1) with assists coming from Liam Harris, Chris Edsall, and Jodie Harvey. John Pugh was the goalkeeper throughout the duration of the group stage. These results left Loveitts sitting in second place in their group, therefore not qualifying for the semi-finals with only the group winners entering the next stage.

The event was hosted at the Warwick Central Ajax Football Club, Warwick and was raising money for the Myton Hospice. The event was considered a success by all but left a few participants from the team with aching muscles the next day!
