LOVEITTS ENTER FOOTBALL TEAM FOR CHARITY EVENT

Loveitts participated in the Lloyds Banking Group charity outdoor 5 a side football tournament and acquitted themselves well on the night, winning two but losing one game on the night.

The tournament didn’t start to plan, as Loveitts suffered a 2-0 loss to Harrison Beale and Owen, but they soon recovered winning their final two games 3-1 and 1-0 against Cranfield Business Services and Lloyds Retail Banking respectively. Scott Lindley (1), Chris Edsall (2) and Mark Treadwell (1) were the scorers on the night but were ably assisted by Paul Barnes, Liam Harris, Simon Mattock and goalkeeper John Pugh, who produced some admirable agility at times as goalkeeper. These results left Loveitts sitting in second place in their group, therefore not qualifying for the semi-finals with only the group winners entering the next stage.

The event was hosted at the Warwick Central Ajax Football Club, Warwick and was raising money for the BBC Children in Need, Help Harry Help Out and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The event was considered a success by all but left a few participants from the team with aching muscles the next day!
