Right to Rent Changes
As always, the Lettings team at Loveitts look to keep you updated on current
legislative changes, with that in mind we have some new changes coming in from
the 1st July.
From July 1st the freedom of movement for EU nationals ceases under Brexit.
All EU tenants (new tenancies not retrospective) must now prove their
Right To Rent.
This is done via the Home Office and a share code. For none EU the
Residency Permits remain the same, but you must see the original.
For UK tenants, you must still prove their nationality and keep records.
REMEMBER this is the only part of the Housing Act that is CRIMINALLY
prosecutable
